Octomore 16.3 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, made entirely from Islay-grown barley from a single harvest. It belongs to the ".3" series, which looks at the relationship between island peat smoke and the cereal sweetness of the spirit.
The nose has earthy peat smoke, damp moss and sweet cereal, with vanilla pod, honey, fresh hay, brine and a touch of citrus. The palate is oily and smoky, with nutty malt, toasted oak, dark chocolate and ripe pear. The finish is long and warming, ending in barley sugar, a mineral edge and clean earthy sweetness.
