Octomore 17.1 is the first edition in the 17 series from Bruichladdich, an Islay single malt matured for five years in first fill bourbon barrels. The barley is 100% Scottish Mainland Concerto, malted to 81.0 PPM.
It is bottled at natural cask strength, with natural colour and no chill filtration.
Vanilla milkshake, Scottish tablet and warm custard tart sit alongside pear drops and malt syrup. The peat builds in waves, from dry, earthy smoke to smouldering oak and ash, while salinity cuts through the sweetness.
