Octomore 17.3 is a 5 year old peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, in a 70cl bottle at 60.9% ABV. It is made from 100% Islay Concerto barley grown on Octomore Farm and peated to 132.1ppm.
The whisky matured in a cuvee of first fill bourbon barrels and second fill barriques that held Ribera del Duero, Sauternes, Eiswein and Syrah wines.
The nose offers salted caramel, smoked apple, toasted coconut, pralines and smoked malt. The palate is earthy, with charred oak, dry ashy smoke, citrus oils and salinity. The finish is coastal and weather-beaten.
