Octomore Edition 14.1 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at a natural cask strength of 59.6% ABV without chill filtration.
It was distilled in 2017 from 100% Scottish Concerto barley peated to 128.9 PPM, then matured for five years in first-fill ex-American whiskey barrels from Jim Beam, Heaven Hill and Jack Daniel's.
The nose has toasted oak, vanilla pod and warm peat smoke, with honeyed malt and fresh citrus. The palate moves from strong peat to creamy caramel, charred oak and sea salt. The finish is long and warming, with earthy smoke, vanilla cream and a touch of brine.
