Okami 4 Year Old is a Japanese blended malt, a vatting of malt whiskies, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It spends its final twelve months in Mizunara oak casks, which add spice and dry, woody notes to a soft, malty style. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The bottling is by SAN.foods in Yamanashi Prefecture.
The nose offers ripe red apple and creamy honey, with clove, oak, vanilla and caramel. The palate is soft and malty, with candied peach and nuts. The finish is long, with peppery oak, a grapefruit edge, spiced honey and vanilla cream.
