Old Ezra 7 Year Old Single Barrel is a bourbon from the Ezra Brooks brand, bottled at 58.5%. This expression was introduced in 2018. The whiskey is sourced and believed to be distilled by Heaven Hill, until the brand's own distillery, opened in 2018, begins to supply it. Rye in the mash bill adds a fine spiciness and extra depth. The colour is amber. The nose brings vanilla, caramel, brown sugar, cherries, orange, oak, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove, with hints of almond, cocoa, honey and maple syrup. The palate is lively and creamy, with caramel, vanilla, blossom honey, black pepper, chocolate, sweet fruit and strong oak. The long finish has spiced oak, cherries, burnt sugar and baked apples.
