Old Fitzgerald 17 Year Old Bottled in Bond 2022 Release (75cl, 50%)

Old Fitzgerald 17 Year Old is a wheated Kentucky straight bourbon, the 9th edition of the Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Decanter Series, made at the Heaven Hill Bernheim Distillery in Louisville. The barrels were filled in autumn 2004 and the bourbon was bottled in spring 2022 at 100 proof (50% ABV), presented in a diamond decanter. Wheat replaces rye as the secondary grain in the mashbill, which gives a softer, caramel-leaning style. The nose has dried apricots, apple peel, caramel, nuts and a little toasted oak. The palate is concentrated, with a butterscotch core, dried apples, raisins, vanilla and a hint of black pepper. The finish is lasting and warm.
