This is a seven-year-old Kentucky bourbon from the Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond series, in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in Heaven Hill rickhouses in new, charred American oak barrels and bottled at 100 proof, as the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897 requires.
The nose is caramelised brown sugar, toasted oak and baking spices, with a hint of dried fruit. On the palate come buttery vanilla, toffee and honey, with nutmeg, cinnamon and toasted almonds underneath. The finish is long and warming, with oak spice, caramel and a touch of leather.
