Old Fitzgerald Bottled in Bond 9 Year Old Fall 2018 Release (75cl, 50%)

This is the Fall 2018 release of Old Fitzgerald Bottled in Bond, a nine-year-old wheated Kentucky straight bourbon from Heaven Hill Bernheim Distillery in Louisville. It is an early edition of the Bottled in Bond decanter series and carries the black label, which marks fall-season barrels. The whiskey was distilled in fall 2009 and bottled in fall 2018, at 50% ABV (100 proof). Wheat rather than rye is the secondary grain in the mashbill, and it comes in the series' diamond-cut decanter. The nose has vanilla, caramel and dried apple. The palate is smooth and rounded, with a clean, fruit-forward character, and the finish is medium and warm.
