Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon Stitzel-Weller Distilled Spring 1973 Bottled Fall 1979 (50%)

This is a six-year-old Old Fitzgerald, a wheated Kentucky straight bourbon from the Stitzel-Weller Distillery in Shively, Kentucky. It comes in a quart bottle. The whisky was distilled in spring 1973 and bottled in the fall of 1979, at 100 proof (50% ABV), in line with Bottled-in-Bond rules: a single distillery and a single season's production. The Van Winkle family had sold the distillery in 1972, so this was made in the first full year after that sale.
