Old Forester is a bourbon in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 40% ABV. It dates from 1870 and was continuously distilled and marketed by the founding family before, during and after Prohibition.
The aroma is sharp and sweet, with a strong floral character, mint, tobacco leaf and vanilla over a base of oak and pine. The palate starts sharp and softens quickly, bringing oak, sweet corn, rye grain, soft vanilla and light orange with some spice. The finish is long, warm and slightly drying, with a pleasant level of sweetness.
