Old Grand-Dad 16 Year Old is a one-time release from James B. Beam Distilling Co., issued in late 2024. It is the oldest Old Grand-Dad offered in modern times, aged a minimum of sixteen years in new charred American oak at Clermont, Kentucky.
It uses the brand's high-rye recipe and is bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) in a 75cl bottle, with a throwback orange label and a gold wax medallion inspired by vintage bottlings.
The nose brings charred oak, leather, caramel, cinnamon and dark cherry. The palate is full-bodied, with tobacco, vanilla, dark cocoa and spicy rye, and the finish is long, with baking spice and a peppery edge.
