Old Grand-Dad is a high-rye Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 86 proof (43% ABV), in a 750ml bottle. It was first bottled in 1882 and was named by Colonel R.B. Hayden, a third-generation distiller, in honour of his grandfather, Basil Hayden.
The larger share of rye in the mash bill gives it a lighter, spicier character. The palate is sweet, sour and woody, with touches of spice and caramel, oak and fruit.
