Old Louisville 8 Year Old Bourbon is a Kentucky straight bourbon aged for eight years and bottled at 50% in a 75cl bottle. Old Louisville Whiskey Co. selects barrels distilled elsewhere in Kentucky for its releases.
The mashbill is 78% corn, 12% malted barley and 10% rye. Each barrel was filled at 120 proof, and the whiskey was brought down to 100 proof at bottling.
The nose combines dark caramel and toasted oak with cinnamon, clove and brown sugar. The palate is creamy, with caramel, nutmeg, dark fruit, heavy oak and late butterscotch. The finish is long and warming, with milk chocolate, maple syrup, cinnamon and pecan.
