Old Overholt 11 Year Old Cask Strength Straight Rye is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey from the Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont, bottled at 53.7% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is a 2024 annual release.
The whiskey was distilled in autumn 2012 as a single vintage. After eleven years, barrels were chosen from four warehouses (M, J, F and 5), blended, and bottled at cask strength without chill-filtration. The mashbill meets the 51% minimum for rye.
The nose offers rye toast, fennel seed, clove, nutmeg, black pepper and brown butter. The palate is creamy, with cinnamon, clove, honey, toffee and baked apple. The finish is moderate, with dry cocoa and a balancing sweetness.
