Old Pulteney 10 Year Old 1 Litre (1L, 40%)

This is a ten-year-old Highland single malt from Pulteney Distillery in Wick, bottled at 40% in a 1 litre bottle. It is a distillery bottling and is not smoky. The whisky spent the whole decade in second-fill ex-bourbon casks of American oak. Pear, green apple and lemon sit alongside vanilla, honey and oak spice, with a light salty sea note. On the nose there is pear cake and banana with vanilla cream, lemon cream and oak spice. The palate brings green apple, honey and lemon meringue, with pear, a hint of tobacco and a sea breeze. Salted caramel and drying oak linger in the finish.
