Ootori Japanese Blended Whisky was crafted by the Mercian Corporation, owners of the former Karuizawa and Kawasaki distilleries. It is a well-rounded blend built on rich oak, a range of spices and mellow honey, with lemon zest, cinnamon and salted caramel layered through it. The nose is deep and elegant, with aged oak, dried fig, tobacco leaf and hints of molasses. The palate is full-bodied, with dark chocolate, roasted nuts, dried cherry and subtle spice. The finish is lingering, with warm oak, spiced fruit and a touch of leather.
