Oremus Furmint Mandolás Magnum (1.5L)

A varietal white wine from the Tokaj Hegyalja wine region in Hungary. After harvest, whole Furmint grapes are pressed at the Oremus cellar without destemming or crushing; most of the wine ferments in new Hungarian oak barrels, with a smaller part in stainless steel tanks. It then matures for seven months in Hungarian oak barrels, with regular stirring of the fine lees during the first two months. In the glass it is bright pale yellow with golden reflections. The bouquet shows fresh grapefruit and lemon, linden and chamomile flowers, and a fine hint of herbs, saffron and oak. It has a strong, full body and lively acidity, with layered aromas carrying through to an elegant, long finish. It suits fresh fish, crispy roast pork with substantial sides and white meats such as chicken in pastry with sauce.
