Oremus Tokaji Aszú 5 Puttonyos 2018 (50cl, 11.5%)

Oremus Tokaji Aszú 5 Puttonyos 2018 is a sweet Hungarian wine from Tokaj, in a 50cl bottle at 11.5% abv. It is made from Furmint, Hárslevelü, Zéta and Sárgamuskotály, with 160 g/l of sugar. It is an Aszú wine, made in vintages where noble rot develops. Five puttonyos, each of 25 kg of hand-picked botrytised berries, are added to the base must. After maceration and pressing, fermentation takes place in new Hungarian oak barrels. The wine then ages for two to three years in 136 and 200 litre barrels, and a further two or three years in bottle. The colour is amber, with honey and fruit on the nose. The acidity on the palate balances the sugar.
