Oxford Artisan Whisky 3 Year Old Batch 1 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company) (50cl, 50%)

This is Batch 1 of the Home Nations Series MMXXI from That Boutique-y Whisky Company, a three year old English single grain from the Oxford Artisan Distillery. It comes from the first cask the distillery ever filled, and is bottled at 50% in a 50cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. The whisky spent 19 months in a new, charred 225-litre American oak cask, then 21 months in a 100-litre French oak Sauternes cask. The grain bill is 51% maize, 34% rye, 10% wheat and 5% malted barley. The edition numbers 189 bottles. The nose has apples, pears and green banana with a hint of linseed oil. Sweet apples, peaches, plums, toasted rye bread and thyme mark the palate, and the finish stays fruity with a soft spice.
