This is the 13th Edition of the Parker's Heritage Collection, and the first rye whiskey in the series. It is a Kentucky straight rye from Heaven Hill in Bardstown, aged for 8 years and bottled at 52.5% ABV (105 proof) without chill filtration.
The whiskey matured on the seventh floor of Rickhouse Y in 75 heavily charred barrels. The heavier char drives the spirit deeper into the wood, which is intended to bring out more spice and wood character in the rye. Earlier editions were bourbon, apart from a malt whiskey in the 9th Edition.
