Paul John Bold Indian Single Malt Whisky (75cl, 46%)

Paul John Bold is the peated single malt from John Distilleries in Goa, India. It is made from six-row Indian barley dried over imported Islay peat, at around 25 ppm, and bottled at 46% in a 750ml bottle. It is non-chill filtered, with no added colour. The whisky matures in American oak ex-bourbon barrels in Goa's tropical climate, and carries no age statement. The peat sits alongside honeyed oak, fruit and spice rather than dominating them. The nose brings toasted barley, dried grass, a little kipper smoke, citrus peel, green apple and brown sugar. On the palate come honeyed oak, fruity coffee, spicy porridge, lime and dry toast, with the peat gently present. The finish is peaty with peppered oak.
