Paul John Classic Cask Strength is a non-chill-filtered Indian single malt, bottled at 55.2% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It was distilled in Goa by John Distilleries from Indian six-row malted barley and matured in ex-bourbon barrels.
It won Gold in the Indian Single Malt category at the World Whisky Awards 2021.
The nose brings stewed apples, ripe pears, sponge cake and golden barley, with a pinch of salt. The palate is honeyed, moving to manuka honey and liquorice, then cinnamon, black pepper and toasted honeycomb. The finish is medium to long and juicy, with orchard fruit, gentle oak tannin and demerara sugar.
