This is Paul John Peated Select Cask, an Indian single malt from John Distilleries in Goa. It is bottled at a cask strength of 55.5% ABV in a 75cl bottle, without chill filtration.
It is made from Indian six-row barley with imported Scottish peat, distilled in copper pot stills and matured in American oak casks in Goa's tropical climate. The whisky is heavily peated and drawn from selected casks.
The nose brings bonfire embers, charred oak, cinnamon, nutmeg, orange peel and dark fruit. The palate is dense and oily, with smoke over oak spice, malt sweetness and a touch of anise. The finish is long, dry and oaky, with smoke that lingers.
