Paul John 'Oloroso Select Cask' Indian Single Malt Whisky (75cl, 48%)

Paul John Oloroso Select Cask is an Indian single malt in a 750ml bottle, bottled at 48% ABV. It was distilled by John Distilleries in Goa from Indian six-row barley, in copper pot stills. The whisky matures first in American oak, then is finished in oloroso sherry casks. It is one of two sherry-finished Select Casks from Paul John, alongside a Pedro Ximénez version, and is the drier and nuttier of the pair. The nose offers caramel, walnut and deep fruit, with dried figs and a thread of wood spice. The palate is rich and nutty, with dark caramel, roasted walnuts, dried cherry and savoury oak. The finish is long and drying, with lingering sherry nuttiness and warm spice.
