Paul John Kanya is an Indian single malt matured for 7 years in first-fill American white oak casks. It was distilled from 100% Himalayan six-row barley, bottled at 50% and released in 2017, and comes in a 70cl bottle.
The distillery describes it as one of the softest Indian whiskies bottled, with citrusy spice and tropical fruit on the nose and a creamy, butterscotch sweetness.
The nose is light citrus and manuka honey with ripe peach, apricot and vanilla. The palate has a rich mouthfeel and sweet butterscotch, and the finish brings warm spices recalling toasted oak, with a hint of saltiness.
