A single barrel Kentucky straight rye from Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co. in Louisville, bottled at barrel strength of about 55% ABV (109.99 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
The double oak method moves the rye from one new charred American oak barrel into a second. It is bottled with no added water and without chill filtration.
Cinnamon and toasted oak open the nose, with dark chocolate, molasses and toasted marshmallow. On the palate come caramelised brown sugar, black pepper, herbal rye spice and dark fruit. The finish is long and warming, moving between sweet oak and dry rye heat.
