Peerless Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye (59.1%)

Peerless Single Barrel is a Kentucky straight rye, bottled uncut at 59.1% ABV (118.2 proof). It is made with a sweet mash and low barrel entry proofs, and it is non-chill-filtered. Each barrel is hand-selected to bring out a particular flavour theme, such as oak and pepper, fruit and floral, or caramel and vanilla. The nose is dark brown sugar, barrel char, dry rye grain and baking spices. The palate is viscous, with peppery rye spice, deep caramel, toasted oak and dark fruit in syrup. The finish is very long, with dark chocolate, burnt caramel, tannic oak and a spicy rye kick.
