Penderyn – Bad Wolf, Icons of Wales Release No. 13 (2025) (70cl, 46%)

Penderyn Bad Wolf is release No. 13 in the Icons of Wales series from Penderyn Distillery, bottled in 2025 at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was created to mark the 10th anniversary of Bad Wolf Studios, the Cardiff-based production company. This Welsh single malt was distilled on Penderyn's pot still with its Faraday column, then matured for 10 years in Tawny Port pipes, casks that had held port wine for up to 60 years. The nose offers orange blossom, rose petals, fruit cake, raisins, fig conserve and red berries. The palate has simmered dark fruit and orchard notes with toffee, marzipan and bittersweet marmalade, and a balance of sweetness and salinity. The finish is long, with dried apricot, salted caramel and a dusting of nutmeg.
