Penderyn The Village is the 14th release in the Icons of Wales series, a Welsh single malt in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It was bottled in 2026 to mark the centenary of Portmeirion, the Italian-inspired village on the North Wales coast.
The whisky matured in bourbon casks before a finish in Amarone casks from the Valpolicella region of northern Italy. That Amarone finish is the heart of the expression.
The nose combines ripe fruit, oak spice, vanilla, cocoa and honey. The palate is velvety and full-bodied, with red berries, ripe plums, soft spice and honeyed sweetness. The finish is long and warming, with candied fruit, spiced oak and a trace of grape tannins.
