Penderyn Yma O Hyd, Icons of Wales – Release No.10/50 (bottled 2022) (70cl, 43%)

A Welsh single malt from Penderyn, bottled in 2022 as the tenth release in the Icons of Wales series. It takes its name from the Welsh anthem Yma O Hyd, meaning Still Here. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. The spirit is made on Penderyn's single copper Faraday still and was matured mainly in ex-bourbon casks from Buffalo Trace, followed by selected finishing periods. The nose is tropical fruit, vanilla custard, honey and citrus zest. The palate brings creamy caramel, orchard fruits and toasted malt, then toffee, raisins and gentle spice. The finish is long and warming, with sweet oak, dark chocolate and a hint of pepper.
