Penelope Barrel Strength Straight Bourbon Whiskey (70cl, 57%)

Penelope Barrel Strength is a straight bourbon bottled undiluted from the barrel at 57%, in a 70cl bottle. It is the higher-strength companion to the brand's standard bourbon. The mash is a blend of three mash bills, bringing together corn, wheat, rye and malted barley. It was matured in new, charred American oak and is non-chill filtered. The nose is caramel, crème brûlée and sweet corn, with apricot, nuts and a little spiced oak. On the palate come cane sugar, syrup and cornbread, then dark chocolate, cinnamon and clove. The finish is long and warming, with caramel sweetness turning to black pepper and toasted oak.
