Peshterska Muskat (50cl, 40%)

Peshterska Muskat is a Bulgarian grape rakia, a pomace brandy distilled from the skins and pulp of Muscat Ottonel grapes grown in the Thracian Valley. It is bottled at 40% in a 50cl cobalt blue bottle. The spirit is unaged, so it stays clear and keeps the aromatic character of the Muscat grape rather than anything taken from a barrel. On the nose it is floral, with ripe Muscat sweetness and a honeyed, perfumed note. The palate is dryish and slightly oily, with vanilla bean and roasted nuts. The finish is medium in length, with powdered sugar and a peppery fade.
