Pikesville 6 Year Old is a straight rye whiskey that revived a historic Maryland brand in the Kentucky style. It has a deep mahogany colour and is bottled at a higher proof.
The nose is dusty cocoa, cherry and vanilla, with peppery rye and clove. The palate is full-bodied and dry, with honeyed sweetness, strong baking spices, dark chocolate, oak and leather. The finish is long, with dark fruit, spicy rye and a hint of smoke.
