Pikesville 6 Year Old Straight Rye Whiskey (70cl, 55%)

Pikesville Straight Rye is a Kentucky rye whiskey aged for six years and bottled at 55%, which is 110 proof, in a 70cl bottle. Heaven Hill makes it, choosing long-aged barrels from preferred warehouse positions. The Pikesville name goes back to the Maryland rye tradition. The brand was created in Maryland in 1895 and has been run by Heaven Hill since 1982, although today's rye is produced in Kentucky. Dusty cocoa leads the nose, with smoky oak beneath. The palate is dry and spicy, with honeyed rye and cloves, and the finish brings soft vanilla and baking spices.
