Pinhook Bourbon War Vertical Series Aged 7 Years Straight Bourbon Whiskey (75cl, 57.5%)

Bourbon War 7 Year is the fourth of nine annual releases in Pinhook's Bourbon Vertical Series, which follows one batch of high rye bourbon distilled at MGP in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, from four to twelve years old. This release was aged, blended and bottled at Castle and Key in Frankfort, Kentucky, from about 130 barrels of a mashbill of 75% corn, 20.5% rye and 4.5% malted barley. Sean Josephs chose to bottle it at cask strength, 57.5% (115 proof), non-chill-filtered. It won Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. It is described as rich and opulent, with dried fruit and baking spice, and a nose of freshly baked raisin bread.
