This is a 10 year old Kentucky single barrel bourbon from Pinhook, bottled at barrel proof, 58.25% ABV, in a 750ml bottle. Each bottle comes from one individually selected cask of new charred American oak, and it is neither chill filtered nor diluted.
Pinhook selects its barrels with an eye to the conditions of each ageing period, so every barrel has a slightly different character.
The nose is dark caramel and seasoned oak, with dried cherry, toasted pecan, leather and later clove and vanilla. The palate brings brown sugar, charred oak, stewed dark fruit, cinnamon bark and black pepper. The finish is long and warming, dry and spice-driven, with dark chocolate.
