Plantation Guyana Zebra 2008 2019 XO (70cl, 47.1%)

Aged rum from Guyana, distilled in 2008 and bottled as an XO single cask edition. It is made from molasses in a pot still and aged in bourbon, Ferrand and Zebra casks, the latter made from chestnut and acacia wood. The release was limited to three casks. Esters are 35, volatile compounds 124 and dosage 4. On the nose there are bitter almond, vanilla, phenolic notes, leather, allspice and gentian root. The palate is full and spicy, with clove, cinnamon, balsamic, bacon, tobacco and maple syrup. The finish is extremely long, with caramel, black cherry and mushrooms.
