Plantation Jamaica 1998 Long Pond Bardstown (70cl, 49.5%)

A single cask rum from Jamaica, distilled in 1998 at Long Pond Distillery and bottled in 2021. It was fermented from molasses for one week and distilled on a Blair column still. It spent 20 years in American bourbon casks in the country of origin, two years in Ferrand casks and ten months in Bardstown Fusion Series bourbon casks. The finish cask previously held Kentucky straight bourbon whisky used for the Bardstown Fusion series. The nose has complex aromas of roasted almonds, hops, malt, rumtopf and dark berries. On the palate the aroma is almost reproduced one to one.
