Plantation Jamaica 2012 Clarendon Calvados Cask Rum (70cl, 50.7%)

A single cask aged rum from Jamaica, distilled in 2012 from molasses at Clarendon Distillery. It matured for five years in American bourbon casks, then five years in Ferrand casks and one year in Calvados casks. Calvados is a brandy made from apples in Normandy. The nose has typical Jamaican rum notes in a lighter version, a mix of light tropical fruits and cooked apples, with lime zest, must apple, pear juice, pineapple, star fruit, cooked banana, jasmine and vanilla. The palate follows the nose, accompanied by subtle classic Calvados aromas, fresh and oily with herbal notes, tropical fruits and varnish.
