Plantation Jamaica Clarendon MSP 2007 2022 Rum (70cl, 48.4%)

A limited edition rum from the Clarendon distillery in Jamaica, distilled in 2007 from molasses and bottled as a Plantation one-time edition. It was fermented for 3-4 days and distilled in a pot still, then aged for 13 years in American Bourbon barrels in the country of origin, followed by 2 years in Ferrand casks at Maison Ferrand. The edition is limited to 28 casks, 2000 bottles for Germany and Austria, with esters 102, VC 337 and dosage 0 g/l. The nose shows tropical aromas of banana and vanilla with apricot and allspice, plus kaki fruit, orange peel, ginger, sea air and tar. The palate is rich and fruity, with wood, vanilla, vanilla pudding and toast developing into melon, guava and cooked apple. The finish is long, with coconut milk, oak, spices, vanilla, liquorice, banana and star anise.
