Plantation Panama 2008 red PdC #26 Rum (70cl, 42%)

A single cask rum from Panama, distilled in 2008. It is one of the Plantation Single Cask Rums, double-matured rums that first age in former bourbon casks in a tropical climate and then finish in former Ferrand casks of French oak in south-west France. Alexandre Gabriel, named world's best Master Blender in 2012, selects the finishing casks. The cask type is chosen individually for each rum, and previous contents may have been wine, another spirit or beer. Red PdC refers to Pineau des Charentes, an aperitif made in western France that tastes sweet but with a bite of wine acidity. Only a few versions of Plantation rums are produced each year.
