Planteray One Time Mauritius 2013 Rum (70cl, 46.5%)

A limited edition rum from Mauritius, distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2024 under the Planteray name. It is made from molasses, fermented for two days and distilled in a column still. It matured for nine years in American Bourbon casks in Flic en Flac, Mauritius, then for two years in Ferrand casks at Maison Ferrand. Dosage is 4.5 g/l. The nose is spicy-sweet with caramel, vanilla, coconut, tobacco and nutmeg, plus banana, citrus and passion fruit; the palate shows dried fruits and guava; the finish is long and intense with pepper, dried orange peel and black tea.
