A single cask aged rum from Peru, distilled in 2017 from molasses. It matured for five years in bourbon casks, then one year and five months in Ferrand casks, with a finish of two years and three months in Banyuls barrels. The Banyuls finish is a French Vin Doux from Roussillon made from Grenache grapes, known for chocolate, berry and caramel notes.
The nose brings caramel, peach, apricot, dark cherry, toffee, orange, dark chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg and walnut. The palate shows guava, prune, honey, figs, banana, blackberry, mocha, pepper and roasted almonds, with a finish of mango, lemon, coffee, licorice, pear, leather, mint, blackcurrant and cloves.
