Planteray XO 20th Anniversary is an aged Barbados rum, made from molasses and blended to mark Alexandre Gabriel's 20 years as Master Blender. It is bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle.
The rum is first aged in bourbon casks in Barbados, then shipped to south-west France for further maturing in small Ferrand French oak casks. Tropical ageing runs from 8 to 15 years, followed by 2 to 10 years of continental ageing.
The nose is floral and fruity, opening into vanilla, cocoa and milk chocolate. On the palate come chocolate, vanilla, ripe banana, roasted coconut and a hint of fresh mango, leading to a very long finish.
