Platte Valley is a straight corn whiskey from Heaven Hill in the United States, made entirely from corn and matured in charred oak casks. It is sold in a rustic ceramic jug.
The nose is sweet, with corn, vanilla and a touch of caramelised sugar, along with a lightly smoky note from the charred oak. On the palate sweet corn leads, with deep caramel, vanilla and a subtle spiciness from the cask. The finish is long, with lingering sweetness, a soft grain character and a hint of oak.
