Port Askaig 8 Years

This is an eight-year-old Islay single malt from Port Askaig, the range of the independent bottler Speciality Drinks, introduced when the brand was relaunched in 2023. It is non-chill-filtered and free of colouring. It matures first in American oak, then spends five years in a mix of bourbon barrels, toasted American oak, PX sherry butts and refill hogsheads. The nose combines peat smoke with banana, pineapple and sweetness. On the palate there is stewed fruit, pure banana, peat, iodine and smoke. The finish is round, sweet and long.
