Port Charlotte PC8 is the fourth general release of Bruichladdich's heavily peated Islay single malt. Distilled in 2001 and bottled in 2009 at eight years old, it was matured in American oak casks and bottled at a full cask strength of 60.5%, without colouring or chill filtration. Ar Duthchas is Gaelic for 'Our Land' and 'Our Heritage', a term for the deep bond between a community and the land it has inhabited. The nose brings sea spray, peat smoke, pepper and lemon, with heather, myrtle, sweet oak and malted barley behind. The palate is viscous, rich and oily, with peat fire and Demerara sugar toddy. The finish carries marine notes over the sweetness of the oak.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
