This is Port Charlotte An Turas Mor, a peated single malt from Bruichladdich bottled on 4 November 2010 at 46% ABV. It carries no age statement and is a multi-vintage blend of whiskies from five to eight years old, bottled without any finishing.
The nose is clean and mineral, with paraffin, graphite, coal, linseed oil, wet rocks, raw wool and earth, then fresh mint and dill and a growing sootiness. The palate is fruitier, with notes of white rum, and also medicinal, camphory and briny, with liquorice and returning ash and soot. The finish is long, clean and warming, with herbal, minty notes and an earthy aftertaste.
