Port Charlotte PC 8 Ar Dùthchas (70cl, 60.5%)

Port Charlotte PC 8 Ar Dùthchas is the fourth release in the Port Charlotte PC series from Bruichladdich on Islay, and the last one distilled in 2001, the year the distillery reopened. It was bottled in 2009 at a cask strength of 60.5% in a 70cl bottle, with an outturn of 30,000 bottles. The Gaelic name means land of our heritage. The malt is peated to 40ppm and was matured in American oak casks. The nose is spicy and peppery, with citrus, heather, wood, malt, sea spray and peat smoke. The palate runs from peat and smoke to sweetness, oak, sugar and sweet fruit, and the finish is long and warm.
